Sri Lanka Approves Long-Term Contract for Murban Crude Oil Purchase

The Sri Lankan government has approved a long-term contract for the purchase of six Murban crude oil tankers during the period from April 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) had invited bids from its registered suppliers for this procurement, receiving six proposals in response.

Following evaluations, the Cabinet approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Energy to award the procurement to M/s Aditya Birla Global Trading (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. This decision was made based on the recommendation of the Special Standing Procurement Committee appointed by the Cabinet.

This agreement is expected to ensure a stable supply of crude oil during the specified period, supporting the country’s energy needs effectively.
