The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) has reported that a total of 279,328 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in February 2026, marking the highest number of visitors recorded in a single calendar month in the country’s history.
According to the authority, the figure represents an increase of nearly 16.2% compared to tourist arrivals recorded in February 2025.
The highest number of tourist arrivals on a single day during the month was recorded on February 12, 2026, when 12,731 visitors entered the country.
In terms of source markets, India recorded the highest number of arrivals during the month with 47,679 tourists.
Other major contributor countries included:

The strong performance highlights the continued recovery and growth momentum of Sri Lanka’s tourism sector in 2026.
