Sri Lanka-Thailand Bilateral Political Consultations to Be Held in Bangkok on March 25

The 6th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Thailand is set to take place on March 25, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bangkok.

The discussions will be co-chaired by Aruni Ranaraja, Secretary of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism, and Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

This round of consultations will assess the progress made since the 5th round, held in Colombo in August 2023, and the official visit of Thailand’s former Prime Minister to Sri Lanka in February 2024.

As both nations mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, talks will focus on enhancing cooperation in key sectors, including political engagement, trade and investment, renewable energy, fisheries and agriculture, defence, culture, and tourism.
