Sri Lanka welcomed 143,623 international tourists during the first 27 days of September, according to the latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India remained the largest source market, accounting for 45,679 arrivals, or around 32% of the total arrivals recorded during the period.
China was the second-largest source market with 10,081 arrivals, followed by Australia with 10,067 visitors.
The United Kingdom and Germany rounded out the top five, recording 9,967 and 6,745 arrivals respectively.
With the September arrivals, Sri Lanka’s total tourist arrivals for 2026 have reached 1,678,745.
India remained the largest contributor during the January-September period, with 431,162 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom with 159,956.
China recorded 110,909 arrivals during the period, while Germany and Australia contributed 96,746 and 86,105 arrivals respectively.
