Sri Lanka has recorded over 800,000 tourist arrivals so far in 2026, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority.
The SLTDA reported that a total of 809,595 tourists visited the country between January 1 and April 15 this year.
Among the top source markets, India accounted for 167,095 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 84,748 arrivals and Russia with 69,478.
In the first half of April alone, 68,961 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka.
Of these, 19,822 visitors were from India (29%), while 6,328 arrived from the United Kingdom, 6,223 from Australia, 5,100 from China, and 3,560 from Russia.
For comparison, Sri Lanka recorded 174,608 tourist arrivals in April 2025, indicating continued strong momentum in the tourism sector this year.
