Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya is currently on an official visit to Paris to participate in the high-level segment of the International Expert Conference on “An Integrated and Sustainable Approach to Safeguarding the World Heritage Property of the Sacred City of Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka and Associated Living Heritage.” The conference, organized by UNESCO in collaboration with Sri Lanka, will be held at UNESCO Headquarters on Tuesday (April 1), with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay in attendance.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the conference will bring together leading international experts to explore sustainable conservation strategies for Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of immense cultural and historical significance.
In addition to the conference, Prime Minister Amarasuriya is scheduled to hold discussions with senior officials of the French Government on bilateral cooperation and areas of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister is accompanied by a delegation that includes Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.
