Inter-provincial passenger transport has been temporarily authorized for buses operating in the Central and Uva provinces following disruptions to train services on the Upcountry Railway Line caused by heavy rainfall.
Deputy Minister of Transport Dr. Prasanna Gunasena said the decision was made to facilitate the return of people who had travelled to their hometowns for Deepavali festival celebrations back to Colombo.
