The Meteorology Department forecasts a temporary reduction in the prevailing showery conditions across the Northern, North-central, Eastern, and Uva provinces starting today (03).
However, several spells of rain are still expected in the Uva Province and the Ampara and Hambantota districts. Showers or thundershowers are likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts, particularly during the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds, ranging between 30-40 kmph, are anticipated in the Northern, Eastern, North-central, and North-western provinces and Hambantota district.
Misty conditions may occur in the morning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central provinces, and in Galle and Matara districts.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
