Tender Deadline Extended for New Passenger Terminal at BIA

The deadline for submitting tenders for the construction of a new passenger terminal at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has been extended until March.

Deputy Minister of Ports and Aviation, Ruwan Kodituwakku, announced that construction activities are scheduled to commence in June.

The new terminal is projected to significantly enhance BIA’s annual passenger handling capacity, increasing it to 15 million by 2028, marking a crucial step toward modernizing Sri Lanka’s primary international gateway.
