US Awaits Iran’s Response as High-Stakes Nuclear Talks Continue in Pakistan

April 13, 2026

The United States says it is still awaiting a clear commitment from Iran on the nuclear issue, as high-level negotiations between the two sides continue for a second day in Pakistan.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance, leading the American delegation in Islamabad, stated that Washington has already presented its “best and final offer,” but Iran has yet to provide a definitive response.

He emphasized that the United States is seeking firm commitments on nuclear restrictions and broader regional security concerns.

Iranian media described the talks as historic, noting that discussions have extended into a second day, with control and access to the Strait of Hormuz emerging as a key point of contention.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump заявил that Washington has already “won the war on Iran,” reflecting confidence in the U.S. position following recent military tensions.

However, Tehran rejected U.S. claims regarding the movement of Iranian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz and warned that any foreign military activity in the area would be met with a strong response.

The situation continues to raise concerns over potential escalation in one of the world’s most critical global oil routes.
