The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Northwestern provinces after 2:00 p.m. today.
According to the latest weather update, fairly heavy showers of around 75mm are expected in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.
Additionally, several spells of showers may occur in the Uva and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa district.
Misty conditions are likely in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, along with the Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts during the morning.
The public is advised to take necessary precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
