World’s Largest Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant Fully Operational in China

The Fengning pumped storage hydropower plant, the largest of its kind in the world, has officially commenced full operation in Chengde, Hebei Province, China. Operated by the State Grid Corporation of China, the facility highlights the nation’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.

  • Capacity: The plant has a total installed capacity of 3.6 million kilowatts.
  • Annual Output: It is designed to generate 6.61 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
