Electricity Tariff Revision Study Underway; Public Consultation to Begin on December 17

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that studies related to electricity tariff revisions have commenced.

The commission confirmed that it has received a report from the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation detailing fuel prices for electricity generation, which are supplied to the Ceylon Electricity Board. Taking this report and other relevant factors into account, the PUCSL has initiated the study.

A detailed report on the findings will be released to the public on December 17. Following its release, the process of gathering public opinions will begin on the same day, with the consultation period set to continue for 21 days.
