Sri Lanka welcomed 229,298 tourists in March 2025, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The highest influx of visitors during the month was recorded between March 1 and 7, with 53,113 tourists arriving on the island during that period.
India retained its position as the top source market, contributing 39,212 arrivals, followed by Russia, which accounted for 29,177 tourists in March.
Other key markets included the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and China, all of which recorded significant numbers of visitors.
In total, 722,276 tourists visited Sri Lanka in the first quarter of 2025, as the country works toward its ambitious target of attracting 3 million visitors by the end of the year.
