The Election Commission of Sri Lanka has announced that the official gazette notification listing the names of elected members to local government bodies is scheduled to be published on May 29.
The Commission confirmed that the finalized document has already been forwarded to the Government Printing Department for publication.
Meanwhile, political parties and independent groups are still in the process of submitting their final lists of elected representatives. The Commission noted that approximately 90% of this process has been completed.
However, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has requested the Commission to allow amendments to two of its submitted nomination lists for the Colombo Municipal Council.
