The inaugural winter-season flight from Poland to Sri Lanka landed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night (December 23).
The aircraft, operated by Smart Wings Airlines, arrived from Warsaw, Poland, at 10:10 p.m. A Boeing 737 was deployed for the inaugural service, carrying 180 passengers along with nine crew members.
According to the schedule, Smart Wings flights from Warsaw to Colombo will operate weekly on Tuesdays, continuing until March 15, 2026.
Passengers arriving on these flights are expected to visit several key tourist destinations in Sri Lanka, including coastal regions, Sigiriya, Dambulla, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Yala.
The group of Polish tourists was warmly welcomed at the BIA by officials of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, marking another boost to Sri Lanka’s winter tourism arrivals.
