Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake said that rebuilding the country should begin with politicians taking the lead.
Speaking to the media, he outlined several proposals in light of the current national situation. Among them, he suggested that the insurance coverage provided to MPs should be removed, with the funds redirected to a relief fund for the public.
Ravi Karunanayake also proposed that money allocated for importing double cabs for politicians should similarly be redirected to support national reconstruction and relief efforts.
