Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and MP Ravi Karunanayake has raised a question in Parliament under Standing Order 27(2) regarding the impact of Cyclone Ditva.
He sought clarification from the government on the total number of people affected by the disaster.
The MP also requested a district-wise breakdown of the number of deaths and missing persons, displaced families, and houses that were completely and partially destroyed.
In addition, he questioned the accuracy of reports claiming that approximately 48,000 people are still unable to return to their homes following the cyclone.
