Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and MP Ravi Karunanayake has raised questions in Parliament regarding donations and assistance received to support victims of Cyclone Ditva.
He stated that a detailed presentation is required on all funds and support received for relief efforts.
The MP said the disclosure should include the total value of sponsorships, loans, and humanitarian assistance provided by philanthropists and other contributors.
He also asked how much of those funds have been spent on compensation payments and infrastructure restoration.
In addition, he inquired about the proposed International Philanthropist Conference and when it is expected to be held. He requested that the government table comprehensive responses, supported by detailed data and tables, to ensure transparency and accountability.
