Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa left Sri Lanka for Singapore early this morning (16) to receive medical treatment.
She departed Bandaranaike International Airport at around 1.10 a.m. on Singapore Airlines flight SQ-469, accompanied by a relative.
Rajapaksa was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo yesterday (15) after reportedly falling ill. She was later taken directly from the hospital to the airport.
Reports said that, while she was on board the aircraft shortly before departure, police informed her that she was required to appear before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on September 24.
