National Children’s Week 2026 to Be Observed from September 25 to October 1

September 16, 2026

The government has designated September 25 to October 1, 2026, as ‘National Children’s Week – 2026’ to raise public awareness of children’s rights, protection, education, health and well-being.

The initiative recognizes that children currently face challenges beyond traditional protection concerns, including online and digital risks, mental and social pressures, neglect and economic difficulties.

The government said awareness of children’s rights and protection must be strengthened across society, including among children, parents, teachers, government officials and service providers.

A series of programmes will be conducted during the week to encourage greater community participation in child protection activities.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Women and Child Affairs.
