Upcountry Train Services Resume After Nearly 10-Month Suspension

Train services on Sri Lanka’s Upcountry railway line are set to resume today (October 2), following a suspension of nearly 10 months, the Railway Department announced.

Railway Transport Superintendent Asanka Samarasinghe said train services from Colombo to Peradeniya and Gampola would recommence today.

According to Samarasinghe, operations on the Upcountry railway line had remained suspended for approximately 10 months following damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
