The trailer and songs of the highly anticipated feature film Ice Cream—directed by veteran creative mind and accomplished actor Pradeep Dharmadasa—were recently launched amidst an enthusiastic gathering of cast members, journalists, and special guests. Produced by Duminda Piyarathne in collaboration with Kokila Vithanage, the event marked a significant milestone for the film’s journey to the big screen.
Set to hit theaters soon, Ice Cream weaves a captivating tale around the life of a playful, unemployed slum dweller who grapples with the thin line between imagination and reality. The film showcases a colorful spectrum of characters brought to life by a stellar ensemble cast, including Hemal Ranasinghe, Bimal Jayakodi, Roshan Ranawana, Aishara Athukorala, Sarath Kothalawala, Jayalath Manorathna, Damitha Abeyratne, and many more acclaimed performers.
With a screenplay penned by Kalana Gunasekara, Ice Cream is masterfully directed by Chinthaka Somakeerthi and features an array of talented creatives behind the scenes. The film’s editing is handled by Rukmal Nirosh, with Chamara Selara providing assistant direction. Narada Dhananji Thotagamuwa helms the cinematography, while Ruwan Malith Peiris leads art direction and Dinindu Jagoda oversees color grading.
The film’s soulful music is composed by Kasun Kalhara, with lyrics by Manjula Wediwardena and vocals by Kasun Kalhara, Kushani Sandarekha, and Shane Singh.
