The Buddha Rashmi Vesak Festival 2025 is set to take place from May 13 in the vicinity of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, Temple Trees, Perahera Mawatha, and Beira Lake, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Division.
A discussion regarding the festival, jointly organized by the Gangaramaya Temple and the Prime Minister’s Office, was held on March 12 under the patronage of Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri.
The festival will feature Vesak decorations, pandals, and lantern exhibitions presented by the Tri-Forces, school students, university undergraduates, government institutions, and prison inmates. Special religious programmes will also be conducted in government schools and state institutions.
The event was graced by Chief Incumbent of Gangaramaya Temple, Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thera, and Dr. Pallegama Ratanasara Thera.
