The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at several locations in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as in Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts, during the afternoon or night.
In its latest forecast, the department highlighted the likelihood of fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm in some areas within these regions.
Showers may also affect the Western Province, along with Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts in the morning.
The general public is urged to take appropriate precautions to minimize potential damages from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during the thundershowers.
Additionally, misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the morning.
