Showers or thundershowers are expected in several areas across most parts of Sri Lanka after 1.00 p.m. today (October 4), the Department of Meteorology said.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm is likely in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Western, Southern, Uva, North Western and North Central provinces.
Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
The public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning that may occur during thundershowers.
