The Sri Lanka Navy says the Indian Navy warship INS Airavat and Pakistan Navy warships PNS Taimur and PNS Aslat, along with submarine PNS/M Hangor, arrived at the Colombo Port on June 1.
According to the Navy, the Indian vessel INS Airavat, commanded by Commander I.P. Patilfor, has arrived in Sri Lanka for an operational requirement.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani naval fleet has visited Sri Lanka for replenishment purposes and a goodwill visit, including sightseeing activities.
During the visit, personnel attached to the Indian naval contingent are scheduled to participate in several professional and goodwill programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy.
They are also expected to visit historical sites and key tourist destinations across the island before departing Sri Lanka.
The Pakistani naval fleet arriving in Colombo is under the command of senior naval officers Captain Niamat Saeed Khan, Captain Nadir Mateen Afridi, and Captain Uzair Farooq.
Crew members from the Pakistani vessels and submarine are also scheduled to visit several important locations across the country during their stay.
The Sri Lanka Navy further stated that the Pakistani fleet is expected to participate in a joint naval exercise with the Sri Lanka Navy in the western seas before departing the island.
The visit reflects continuing naval cooperation and defence engagement between Sri Lanka and regional maritime partners.
