Prison Spokesperson A.C. Gajanayake said the exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Meningitis is a serious condition involving inflammation of the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Depending on the cause, it can spread in crowded environments, making early detection and medical isolation important in institutional settings such as prisons.
Authorities are expected to continue investigations and medical monitoring to determine whether additional preventive measures are required within the prison facility.
