Over 130 Arrested for Election Law Violations; Complaints Top 2,600 Since Polls Announced

Police report that 27 candidates have been arrested for violating election laws since the announcement of the local government elections on March 3.

In addition, 106 political supporters have also been taken into custody during this period, and authorities have seized 26 vehicles connected to these incidents.

So far, 237 complaints regarding election law violations have been filed with the police, including 65 criminal complaints.

Meanwhile, the National Election Commission stated that it received 170 election-related complaints in the past 24 hours alone, the majority concerning breaches of election law.

In total, 2,623 complaints have been lodged with the Commission since the announcement of the elections, including 13 related to acts of violence.
