Police have warned that legal action will be taken against passengers travelling on expressways without seat belts.
Deputy Inspector General of Police W.P.J. Senadheera said vehicles using expressways should carry passengers only in seats equipped with seat belts.
He said if a rear seat has only two seat belts, only two passengers should travel there. A third passenger travelling in the middle without a seat belt could face legal action.
