The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level advisory for heavy rainfall in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Western provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts.
The advisory, issued at 7.00 a.m. today (22), will remain in effect until 7.00 a.m. tomorrow (23).
According to the Department, heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is expected at times in the affected areas during this period.
