President Anura Kumara Dissanayake Returns from Productive Four-Day State Visit to China

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has returned to the island after concluding a successful four-day state visit to China.

On the final day of his visit, the President met with Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Communist Party of China for Sichuan Province, to discuss bilateral cooperation and development opportunities.

President Dissanayake also toured key facilities, including the Dongfang Electric Corporation in Chengdu, Sichuan’s capital, to explore advancements in energy and industrial technology.

Highlighting China’s rural development and innovation initiatives, the President visited the Shanqi Model Village, a leading example of sustainable rural development, and the National Science, Technology, and Agriculture Centre in Sichuan.

Accompanying the President on this diplomatic mission were Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, and Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Minister Bimal Rathnayake. The delegation actively engaged in discussions and site visits aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
