Public Safety Committees to Be Established Under Clean Sri Lanka Program

A circular outlining the implementation of Public Safety Committees is set to be issued today as part of the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.

These committees will be established across all Grama Niladhari divisions and will include representatives from various sectors, such as youth, retired military personnel, police officers, and will ensure a minimum of 25% female participation.

The initiative aims to address key public safety concerns, including the eradication of the drug menace, crime prevention, and the suppression of illegal activities.

The committees are expected to operate across 10 key focus areas, enhancing community participation and accountability in ensuring local safety and well-being.
