High Court Judge Ranga Srinath Abeywickrama Dissanayake has been appointed as the new Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
The appointment, effective immediately, was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
Judge Dissanayake succeeds W.K.D. Wijeratne, who resigned from the position in October. Since then, Additional Director General M.R.Y.K. Udawela has been overseeing the commission’s operations.
This appointment is seen as a significant step in strengthening anti-corruption efforts in the country.
