Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Member of Parliament, Ravi Karunanayake, has pointed out clear contradictions between government policy, the statements made by the responsible minister, and the announcements of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
Speaking in Parliament today, Karunanayake criticized efforts to discourage renewable energy generation, warning that such actions undermine progress in the sector.
He further highlighted long-standing issues within the CEB, stressing that if the board fails to adapt to the country’s needs, consumers will be forced to seek alternatives.
