Former Deputy Leader of the United National Party and Member of Parliament, Ravi Karunanayake, has emphasized the importance of maintaining a cooperative relationship with the European Union to protect the GSP+ trade concession.
Speaking to the media, Karunanayake urged government politicians to act with foresight and wisdom during this critical period.
He also stressed that the upcoming local government elections should be an opportunity for the people to have their say about the country’s direction. He added that politicians should prioritize national interest over political agendas and act responsibly.
Karunanayake further noted that it is up to the people to judge whether promises have been fulfilled and to decide how the country should move forward.
