The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers at times today (February 26) in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as in Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Hambantota districts.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several other areas during the afternoon or night. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75mm is likely in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Polonnaruwa, Galle, Matara, Kalutara, and Ratnapura districts.
Additionally, fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph may occur in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, and North-Western provinces, as well as in Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Hambantota districts.
