The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has announced that the Weighted Average Yield Rates (WAYR) of Treasury Bills, with maturities of both 91 days and 182 days, have descended to single-digit figures. This significant development emerged from the Treasury Bill auction conducted today, February 14th.
As per the CBSL, the WAYR of Treasury Bills has now reached single-digit levels for the first time since March 4th, 2022. This notable decline underscores a favorable trend in the country’s financial landscape, potentially signaling improved investor confidence and market conditions.
