Sri Lanka Police have submitted a report detailing complaints received across the island yesterday (23) regarding election law violations and acts of violence.
According to the report, no criminal complaints related to the 2025 Local Government (LG) Elections were filed that day. However, six election law violations were reported:

Matale – Unauthorized pasting of posters featuring candidates’ images along the Matale-Dambulla road.

Rattota – Display of political party flags along the Matale-Rattota road.

Rattota – Unauthorized display of candidate banners.

Medawachchiya – Distribution of dry food, potentially as an electoral incentive.

Polonnaruwa – Installation of new street lamps by a candidate.

Monaragala – Display of a candidate’s banner on Vihara Mawatha, Monaragala Road.
Investigations into all reported incidents are currently underway.
