The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) made history today, crossing the 15,000-point mark for the first time.
The index closed at 15,020.61 points, gaining 209.91 points (1.4%) during the day. Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 index also recorded a significant increase, rising by 77.63 points (1.76%) to close at 4,498 points.
Earlier in the day, as of 11:45 a.m., the ASPI had surged by 245 points to achieve this remarkable milestone.
Today’s trading activity saw a total market turnover exceeding Rs. 8.4 billion, with more than 443 million shares changing hands.
