The government has unveiled plans to allow nighttime access to several archaeological sites, aiming to enhance tourism opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs, Gamagedara Dissanayake, announced that Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will be the first location to welcome both local and international visitors during the night.
The initiative, currently under discussion, seeks to gather public opinion to ensure its successful implementation. This move is expected to attract more tourists while showcasing Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage in a unique way.
