The Meteorology Department has forecast showers or thundershowers at times in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is anticipated in parts of the Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa district.
Morning showers or thundershowers are likely in the North-western province and in Colombo and Gampaha districts. Additionally, showers or thundershowers are expected in several other areas during the afternoon or night.
Fairly strong winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h are expected in the Northern, Eastern, North-central, and North-western provinces.
Misty conditions may prevail in certain areas of the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning hours.
The public is advised to take precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
