As severe weather conditions threaten several regions across Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Navy has deployed three relief teams to vulnerable areas in the Anuradhapura district. On 15th and 19th January 2025, teams were sent to Buddhangala in Padaviya and Aluthparagama in Mahakanadarawa to assist with disaster relief efforts.
The Navy relief teams are actively engaged in operations, working tirelessly to provide aid and support to the affected communities. Equipped with dinghies, they have facilitated transportation and extended essential support, helping residents resume daily activities.
In addition, 49 Navy relief teams remain on standby and ready for immediate deployment to assist the public in case of flooding or further adverse weather conditions.
