According to the Epidemiology Unit, the number of dengue cases reported in Sri Lanka for 2025 has exceeded 3,000.
As of January 19, a total of 3,185 cases have been recorded, with the highest number coming from the Gampaha district, which reported 482 cases.
The Western Province leads with the highest number of cases across the provinces, totaling 1,442.
In addition, there have been two reported dengue-related deaths in 2024.
Health officials are urging the public to maintain cleanliness and eliminate mosquito breeding sites to prevent further spread of the disease.
