The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has produced the three suspects arrested yesterday (22) over the killing of notorious underworld figure Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, alias ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa,’ before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today.
A 24-hour detention order has been secured to further question the suspects regarding their involvement in the murder.
According to police reports, two of the suspects were apprehended for providing transportation to the shooter, while the third suspect was arrested for supplying the firearm used in the crime.
The police informed the court that the suspects will be interrogated under detention orders to gather more information about the incident.
After reviewing the details presented, Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela granted permission for continued investigations and instructed the police to submit a progress report to the court.
