The Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed that there is no necessity to import essential food items, apart from the pre-arranged rice imports for the upcoming festive season.
Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne stated that the domestic harvest is sufficient to meet the seasonal demand. He assured that the government will take necessary measures to prevent any shortages or inconvenience for consumers during the festive period.
