The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested an associate of former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as ‘Pillayan,’ in connection with the disappearance of a University Vice Chancellor in the Eastern Province in 2006, the police reported.
Former State Minister Chandrakanthan was also arrested by the CID on April 8 in Batticaloa, in connection with the same incident.
