The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory warning of severe lightning in several provinces and districts today.
Thundershowers, accompanied by intense lightning, are expected in parts of the Eastern, Central, and Northern provinces, as well as in the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts. The Met Department also cautioned that temporary localized strong winds may occur during the thundershowers.
In light of this, the public is advised to take necessary precautions to mitigate the potential risks and damages caused by lightning activity.
