Dengue Prevention Week officially commenced today, with a focus on high-risk Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions across the country.
The National Dengue Control Unit announced that inspections will be carried out at a wide range of locations—including homes, schools, and public spaces—to identify and eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites.
The initiative comes as the country grapples with a rise in dengue infections. Over 19,000 cases have been reported so far this year, along with seven confirmed fatalities.
Health officials urge the public to cooperate with inspection teams and to take proactive steps to keep their surroundings clean and free of stagnant water.
