The Department of Motor Traffic says it receives more than 25 complaints daily regarding the fraudulent use of vehicle registration certificates.
The Department has urged vehicle owners to keep their registration certificates in a secure place to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
Investigations have revealed that fraudsters use vehicle registration books to illegally transfer ownership to other individuals or sell vehicles without authorisation.
The Department also noted that vehicle thefts have been reported following such fraudulent ownership transfers.
